These are some of my natural history ramblings, both literary and afoot, the result of a search for whatever there is to be found, including the native orchids and wildflowers of the beautiful state in which we live.

Autumn Colors at Manito
We travel regularly to eastern Washington to the area of Spokane and one of our favorite places there is Manito City Park. We were there again on November 14 and though there were few flowers blooming outside the greenhouses we wandered through the park taking photos of the autumn colors. The day was dull and overcast, but that did not interfere with our enjoyment of the park. We spent some time in the greenhouses as well but I did not take many photos there since they had put up Christmas lights winding them in and through all the plants. I've not attempted to name all the plants nor have I put them in any particular order.
