Deception Pass

Towards the end of May I was along on a camping trip with a group of sixth through eighth grade students to Deception Pass State Park.  We camped in the park two nights, did some hiking in the area and the last day took the ferry from Anacortes to Friday Harbor on San Juan Island before returning home.  These are some of the pictures I took along the way.

WEST BEACH

After setting up camp we went to West Beach for a while.
We had intended to watch the sunset there, but the kids went in the water,
were cold and wanted to go back to camp to dry off and get warm.

NORTH BEACH

The next morning was foggy and a bit chilly.
We hiked around from West Beach to North Beach,
and then on to the Deception Pass Bridge and Goose Rock.

FERRY TO FRIDAY HARBOR

Most of the next day was spent going to San Juan Isalnd and the town of Friday Harbor
as walk-on passengers on the ferry.
While waiting for the ferry we explored the park near the docks.
