We were in Medical Lake, Washington, on the 9th of June to see our handicapped son and while there went for a ride in the evening in the countryside. We saw a lot of wildflowers and birds and watched the sun go down before heading back to bring him to the place where he stays. These are some of the pictures we took.
Sticky Geranium (Geranium viscosissimum)
Missouri Iris (Iris missouriensis)
Thompson's Paintbrush (Castilleja thompsonii)
Douglas' Onion (Allium douglasii)
I followed this butterfly and others around trying to get photos and finally managed these. The butterfly, however, I have been unable to identify. The birds, California Quail, and both the Eastern and Western Kingbirds were easier and we watched the Kingbirds darting from the fences for insects.
