On February 20 my wife was away visiting family and I decided to take the morning and go hiking in the Chuckanut Mountains south of Bellingham. I did the Fragrance Lake trail, a pleasant hike through old growth forest to a small mountain lake. The round trip including the trail around the lake and a side trail to a viewpoint is about seven miles, with an elevation gain of just under a thousand feet, and though I did not hurry, there was not a great deal to photograph and I was home again before lunch. The day was alternately sunny and misty and that is reflected in the photos.
