We spent a day in the Columbia River gorge recently, but only had time for some exploring on the Washington side of the gorge. The Oregon side, equally beautiful, will have to wait for another trip. Though we visited three or four different locations we spent most of our time at Dog Mountain, climbing to the top of the mountain for some spectacular vistas of the Columbia River. There were plenty of wildflowers and orchids, too, and we had a wonderful but tiring day. The hike was over seven miles with 2800 feet of gain in elevation, but worth the effort.

had a nice visit at RT and the mountains ARE exceptional, nice patches on both sides of the road
Thanks for the ID's. Much appreciated and I thought you'd know. Glad you made it to RT. Did you find the alba form up the hill from the road? They are great along the OBR as well and on both sides of the road.
Fascinating images and info!
Congrats,
Helena
Thanks, Helena. Appreciate the visit.
